Finished this one this afternoon for Collage Play With Crowabout! We got some beautiful images from Nancy Baumiller of Crowabout this week, in celebration of our 50th week!! I loved the background image so much, I knew that I was going to have to find a way to use it as the background, I had to resize it large and then printed it onto cardstock and lightly painted over the top of it. I also scribbled on it with my yellow artist crayon....I am going to have to get some more of those! Kinda nice not having to wait on paint to dry to long on this one.

Did a little trimming up and weeding yesterday......that damn weed that looks like bamboo leaves is running rampant on the slope by my driveway. I decided I couldn't take it anymore and started stepping up the slope pulling weeds....getting higher, still pulling weeds....then it was like too late to go down the way I came up, and the only way to go was up to the top. Still pulling weeds... we have pine straw on the slope which can make the slope slippery if you are trying to stand on it! I ended up having to throw the weeds up to the top of the slope after most of them landed in the middle of the butterfly bush......then had to crawl up the rest of the bank.....finally making it to the top...... must have looked real attractive!! Then I looked at what I had just done and it didn't look like I had done anything!!! One good thing though... my red hibiscus is blooming it's head off!! I was sitting out on the back porch this afternoon and within five minutes I counted 5 hummingbirds at the feeder. One was minding its own business drinking and another one came and chased it off. They flew off arguing with each other! Then three more came! Quite a little show! Y'all have a good night!

Just finished this one this morning. Had such fun. I painted the background a bright pink...let that dry, then painted over it with a pretty green, scraping it off with a plastic card. After it was dry again I went over the entire page with a pink hi liter pen. Then I finished it off with a coat of an orange Twinkling H2o paint to give it some sheen. I have a hard time remembering where I get these images. Some of them are from Nancy Baumiller, and the wings may be from Suzan Buckner and other images from Mary Dover Publishing.

It's a beautiful day today in the mountains! The rain is outta here for a few days! Glad we got it but so nice to see the sun!!! Don't we all feel so much better when the suns out???!
Hope you all have a fun, creative, adventurous, relaxing weekend!

Loose Lady

I just finished this collage last night for the Crowabout Group. Had so much fun with this one...I loveee when I finally figure out the layout of everything and then I can just paste and doodle on the finished takes me an eternity to deciiiiide all that........same thing happens when I am making a necklace or a bracelet....the design is what takes the time....lately everytime I do either one I end up with a stabbing headache on my left side of my head and neck. I mentioned this to my friend Jane yesterday....Jane is a massage therapist and after talking to her she told me to come in to the spa today and she would work on my neck... ohhhh.... what a wonderful dayyy it wassss.....she used a lovely aromatic oil and she massaged it and had me in traction! Pulling my neck this way and that.....sometimes it hurt but I knew it was loosening up the bound up areas. I felt wonderfullllll! She is so amazing... she does such a great job and it was so interesting talking to her about how tension and strain and so many things bind us up and cause pain....makes perfect sense. As crazy as it sounds though, art is therapeudic......I guess I just need to stop and take some breaks from all the fun!! Still loved making "Loose Lady" and just thought Nancy really gave us some great images to use this week! Speaking of Loose Lady, notice at the bottom of the collage it says that "Loose Lady loved Wine" a friend of mine on Flickr said she must be loose too because she loved her wine....and I laughed and then I thought well, does that mean I'm loose too because I love my wine? Laughed again! I miss my wine! I was on those awful Flagyl antibiotics for way too long, and I couldn't drink anything. I have been off of them now for a week, guess it's out of my system by now, but wanted to be sure!! Maybe a glass will be in order tomorrow evening!! Hope you all enjoy yours!! x0x

What Shall I Cook Tonight?

A collage created for the Crowabout cat Pearl became a part of it, remembering the time I found her sitting in the casserole dish I had on my counter! She is always trying to get in or on something! The other night I was watching TV and I heard scratching coming from in the kitchen and I called her and she never came...I kept hearing scratching and then realized it was coming from the pantry....I opened the door and looked back there and there she was amid the boxes of cereal!!!! Silly thing!

The background was painted sometime on the outer sides and pink in the middle....I had never used it so decided to use it for this collage. Many of the images came from Nancy, the administrator of the Collage group. The adorable children came from the Collage Public Domain group on Flickr, and the floral background came from some beautiful papers I purchased recently from Bella Euphoria store in Blue Ridge, the town near where I live. What a beautiful store...everything from vintage clothing, to lovely paper invitations that can be used to print on for all unique jewelry, Tom Shoes......lovely candles and lotions and so much more!! I took some of my bracelets and beaded fan pulls there to hopefully sell some!
Oh back to the collage.....I used my colored chalks to enhance the background, blending them into each other...I had forgotten how much fun chalk was!

Been working on jewelry a bit lately, trying to make some new pieces. I have added some to the Spa Beautiful store also here in Blue Ridge....another lovely place to escape to for an hour or two! Just walking into the store is therapy! The aromatherapy oils Jane uses in her massages waifing through the air.....definitely the place to go here in town to be pampered!

I should be cleaning! My daughter Alyssa and her boyfriend Cody, are coming up for the weekend! Can't wait to see them! Alyssa is looking forward to relaxing after a long week at school with the kids. She is having fun meeting the new kids, but is a bit worn out!! Kathryn has been at St. George Island, FL. with Alex, her boyfriend and his family......they are having a great time and I think she is sad its coming to an end and then it will be time to get back to the real world......

I had our Grandaughters Devan and Whitney, here with me for a couple of days last week. Had such fun with them! They started back to school last Thurs. so I didn't get to spend as long with them as I wanted to, but I'm sure they will be back soon for a weekend and hopefully a marathon game of Dominos, so I can beat Whitney!

I'm now looking forward to fall, and the cooler weather..and some nice long walks! Enjoy your evening!
