Halloween Pics!

My niece Megan and boyfriend Austin as...Taylor Swift and Kanye!

Hello my sweets!! What are yall doing for Halloween? You know, I have never lived anywhere where I got trick r treaters! The house we lived in before I moved up here to the cabin, had this long driveway back at the end of a culdesac, and now I live up on a mountain...but..Blue Ridge has the most fun on Halloween. They shut the entire Main Street down, and everyone takes the kids there for the night, all the stores give out candy, there are costume contests and it's a huge deal, lots of fun to go and people watch!! Hope the rain clears out before tonight!! I just found out from my daughter Kathryn, that my niece Megan, and her boyfriend Austin, are going to be "Taylor Swift and Kanye West'!!!! Isn't that funny! I can't wait to see the pictures of THIS!! Maybe I can share it with yall! Whatever you do, enjoy the night...hee heehhaaaaahhaaaa!

I was at Bella Euphoria in Blue Ridge talking to my friend Cynthia, the owner. She hops up and says, I want you to draw this for me! She had received a beautiful sunflower from a friend that she had put into a wine bottle she had on display. It had a metal rectangular piece tied with ribbon looped over the bottle, of that man in the corner...I'm can I draw this? She had taken a picture of it so she printed it out for me and that's what I had to go by...I realized that just cutting it out and pasting it into a collage wouldn't really look right. So I just started drawing and then I had to figure out how to get the man on metal involved! So I scanned him in and cut him out, I knew better than to try and draw him!! The bottle was a challenge......I don't see how artist do this, where you can see through it, see the wine level inside....AND mainly how to get the shape the same on both sides!! It's all so amateur but anyways this is it, I couldn't post it until I gave it to her because I didn't want her to see it on my blog first LOL! I took it by there the other day and she wasn't there, so I left it for her, hope she likes it!
Now I can show it to yall!

This page was created for Crowabout, so many interesting images provided from Nancy Baumiller...the central image lady was so mesmerizing I knew she would be the center and then my daughter Alyssa posted the quote onto her facebook status. I really liked the quote and told her that I was pretty sure that she would see it in a collage one day! I began the page first with Neo II water soluble crayons, smeared with a baby wipe, then glued on the images and the quote ended up being a part of the plan after all! Had so much fun with this one I am ready for more! Have a great night!

This collage was created for the Collage Dreams on Paper class! Boy what fun I am having in there! We have been learning background and border techniques and now CRAZY PEOPLE!! Yea, they're a little crazy alright! The girl on the right looks like the child of Mimi, from Drew Carey...but she's cute in her own way...I got her from Fidgetrainbowtree....the rest of the images came from magazines...borders came from Nancy Baumiller and some of them I made myself. I was sitting there last night wondering what I was going to write on it or if I should write on it as usual...and I pulled out all my pieces of papers that had different quotes I liked on them and there it was! I thought it was appropriate for the Crazy People and I think we all feel this way sometimes! I feel this way everyday! Never want to grow up!! Enjoy the day!

The Contortionist

Finished this one last night for the Crowabout group...quicker than normal! Most of the images came from Nancy Baumiller. I had to top border for sometime now, from Dover Publishing, and finally I found a place for it. I created the side scalloped borders and the others came from Nancy. The elephant and the Leopards came from Playingwithbrushes on Flickr. It was a bit of a challenge trying to decide what to do with Contortionist man, but that is what challenges are for I guess! I'm excited and looking forward to Nancy's new class starting tomorrow!! You can click on the Collage Dreams on Paper Workshop link to the right, or the Crowabout blog and read about it if you are interested!!!

It has gotten very cold here over the past couple of days and that's okay because the SUN is out!! First day I have seen the sun in many many days! My husband has been working allll weekend outside spraying a big building! I'm sure he is looking forward to being home and warm and relaxing for a little while at least! I'm just having fun on Flickr and on my blog today and drinking coffee! Have yall tried the Pumpkin Spice coffee from WORLD MARKET yet? Molly gave me some! I took some and mixed it with my regular coffee and so noww it has that hint of pumpkin flavor and it's really REALLY good! Think it's surely time for a second cup, don't you? You all enjoy your weekend!

Bird Watcher

The waterfall came from Rainbow Mermaid, border and lady came from Nancy Baumiller, and the top and bottom borders came from a thank you card my neighbor sent me, the star of the collage, the Painted Bunting, came from a flyer I got in the mail. The roses at the top are REALLY a bright pink color...I wish they would scan that way!!

Getting chilly up on the mountain! I had to go to the dentist yesterday...that was fun...and I left the cabin in capris and sandals...oh it will warm up I thought, because lately by the afternoon I'm burning up..well not yesterday! I was even cold in the mall where the dentist office is! Still cloudy and gloomy so I didn't get the pansies planted. Maybe tomorrow, or next week! Everytime I say "next week" I think of my nephew Daniel when he was little. I went down to Florida for a visit with my Mom and my brother and his kids came over and when they were leaving, I said "Daniel, come give me a kiss bye," and he got all shy and smiled with those cute half moon eyes and said "maybe next week"!!! LOL!!! did I get on that subject??

I bet ya'll will be glad when I get a new camera so I can post some photographs instead of these ole collages!! Hope that you all have a fun filled fabulous weekend!

Nine Lives

Created for Crowabout group in Flickr, I thought the heart Nancy gave us was so cute and I just knew I had to create a little house out of it! I painted the sky and grass first then glued the images down and shaded the background with colored chalk and pencils. The original shows a blue hue behind the tree branches that you don't see here, and bright pink flowers going up the vine on the house. For some reason the paint pens don't show up on the scans well...well!! I hope you enjoy it.

Speaking of cats, Pearl is head butting me and laying in front of the keyboard, keeping at least one paw on my wrist with claws intermittently digging into my wrist, just to let me know she is here. I put her down, she jumps back up.

I hope this was not a rumor, but I heard the sun is supposed to come out today! I have pansies to plant! Every year I say I'm not going to plant pansies because when the harsh weather comes they seem to dissolve into the dirt. Of course I always plant them anyhow. Last year Molly and I embarked on an experiment. We planted lots of pansies in the yard and decided we would not pull them up when they got too hot and died back in the summer. We let them go to seed hoping that they would come back! So we went and bought more the other day and we are hoping to start seeing some of the old ones popping far nothing yet.
Well, Pearl says it's time to go! Hope you all enjoy your day!

Just finished this collage today. The green lady came from Nancy Baumiller at Crowabout...the peacock image behind her came from free image site on Flickr..the borders came from a 1950's Whitman story book....the top border came from some pretty paper I bought at Bella Euphoria in Blue Ridge, GA. I painted the background with several greens and twinkling H2o's to add shimmer. I then stamped the background designs on. I bought these clear stamps the other day, not sure what I think of them yet! As you can see I altered the peacock feather image to the EXTREME to give it some punch! The quote from Albert Einstein I actually got from my sister Molly, a quote she had posted on Facebook. I wish you could see it the way the original looks...there are little pretty pink dots going around the borders and around the flowery design on the right..that you don't see here and not to mention the whole collage gleams and shines with my gold glitter pen I used..but, you get the idea!! I'm really becoming terrified lately to write on my of these days I will attempt to try and become less perfect and really cut loose!! I am now reminded of the sweet email I got from Susan Keene at A Walk In The Park from asking me if I knew of Lynda Barry, the cartoonist's art. She had just purchased her new book called "What Is It" and said that she was reminded of my collages when she looked through it...I found it on Amazon and my goodness, I don't know if my art would be near worthy enough to be compared, but when I looked at it I realized that there is one difference and that is what I was referring to need to think everything has to be perfect! Anyway, she seems to have quite a sense of humor, I might have to buy it too! Thanks Susan!! I was thinking I didn't have much to say today, I guess I was wrong!
Hope that you all have a fun weekend of everything you want it to be and more!
